It was a tough assignment, but someone had to do it.  On August 13th of this year, I was invited to speak at the second annual Summer Executive Workshop 2010 , held at the Harbor View Hotel on Martha’s Vineyard.    The overall theme of the conference was “Health, Wealth and Leadership”.  Conference attendees included successful, seasoned professionals and senior level executives from across the country.   The conference provided an opportunity for top tier educational panels and informal networking in a relaxed setting.

The keynote address was delivered by Ron Williams, Chairman and CEO of Aetna.  Three educational panels included:  Intergenerational Wealth Transfer, Executive Wellness and 21st Century Leadership.

My presentation on Executive Health provided attendees with a cutting-edge perspective on the type and level of medical information all executives should seek to truly optimize their health and leadership longevity.    Confernece co-chair, Jerry Burris had this to say: ” The survey feedback from workshop participants on the executive health and wellness segment was very favorable and personally, I thought you (Dr. Ebanks) did an outstanding job presenting your material.”   Central blood pressure screening using the cutting edge SphymoCor CP system was made available to all attendees courtesy of Alternity Healthcare and AtCor Medical.

Other distinguished panelists included Cato Laurensin, Vice President and Dean, UConn Medical Center; Dr. Louis Sullivan, former Secretary of Health & Human Services; Ann Beal, President, Aetna Foundation and Lloyd Trotter, former Vice Chairman, GE and founder of GenX360 Capital Partners, among others.

Proceeds from the conference were donated to Hospice St. Joseph, a Haitian relief agency, the Amistad Center for Art and Culture and Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
